COMMUNICATIONS
By listening, talking, understanding and interacting with our neighbors and those who serve our community we can significantly impact it’s character. Through earnest and frank communications we can identify emerging community issues and help assure they are addressed before they become problems. By knowing and considering our neighbors we can become better neighbors ourselves.
AWARENESS
Good neighbors look out for each other. Whether sitting on the front porch enjoying the weather, walking to dog or driving to the local market. They keep an eye out for safety hazards, environmental conditions, maintenance issues or unusual situations. It all comes down to helping each other keep our homes and neighborhoods safe and secure.
RESOURCES
The power goes out. Your dog is lost. A pothole appears. A neighbor needs special help. The list is endless. Nobody has all the answers. But within the diversity that makes up your neighborhood, resources addressing many of those everyday issues are sure to be found. Moreover, every family has their emergency contact list. Sharing them can make all the difference.
EDUCATION
Have you ever visited the Fire Department, or seen the 911 in action, or touched a Mercy Flight Helicopter, or toured an OCALS unit? Do you know about the Citizen’s Corps or RACES or CERTS or Never Alone or… You probably can’t say yes to all of these, and we’ll bet you wish you could. The “show” in show-and-tell makes all the difference. What you learn can protect you and your neighborhood.
